Dear Parents,
I am Mrs Shirley Lam, the Level Custodian for Primary 6 2010. It is my pleasure to partner you in preparing your child for the PSLE and on behalf of my level teachers, I would like to seek your continuous support in the days to come.
By now, you would have received the introductory letter from your child’s form teacher with regard to classroom matters and expectations. Please feel free to contact the teachers to understand your child’s progress throughout this year.
I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some upcoming activities that your child may engage in term 1. For future updates on activities for each term, I will be uploading the information onto the P6 level blog, which can be found on our school website. I certainly hope that you can access our level blog frequently for the latest update on activities that will take place each term.
Below are some upcoming activities for term 1:
Supplementary Lessons
Supplementary lessons are scheduled as below.
Dates (Monday)
1st Feb 2010
8th Feb 2010
22nd Feb 2010
Dates (Tuesday)
2nd Feb 2010
9th Feb 2010
23rd Feb 2010
Please note that supplementary lessons are compulsory for all Primary 6 pupils. During the lessons, the teachers will carry on with the syllabus.
Remedial lessons are for pupils who need additional help in their work. The teachers will inform the pupils if they need to attend remedial lessons.
2) Primary 6 Camp
Our annual 3 days 2 nights Primary 6 camp will be held from 25th to 27th January. The aims of the camp are to help pupils set personal goals, acquire effective homework strategies and study skills to help them cope with the demands of the year. It is also an excellent opportunity to strengthen the bond between the teachers and pupils. We will be conducting a camp briefing for all pupils one week before the camp. We look forward to your child's participation in this camp.
3) Primary 6 Life-Science Trail
The Primary 6 Life-Science Trail will be held during the P6 Camp. It will be held in the Botanical Gardens. This trail gives the pupils a first hand insight into living things and how living things interact with their environment.
4) E-learning@Home Experience
The school has designated 28th and 29th January to be the E-learning@ Home days for all our Primary 6 pupils. All pupils with access to internet at home are encouraged to stay at home and access our e-learning platform for their lessons on these two days. The school will still be available for pupils who do not have access to internet at home to participate in this learning experience.
5) Chinese New Year Holiday
In view of the excellent PSLE results in 2009, our school has declared 17th January a school holiday. The pupils will return to school on 18th January.
6) Continuous Assessment (CA) 1
All Primary 6 mainstream pupils will be required to sit for the Continuous Assessment 1 in week 9. The scope of assessment for each subject will be issued nearer to date.
I hope the above information will be useful to you. Please feel free to contact me at chow_chiat_sia@nyps.edu.sg or any of the level teachers should you have further queries.
We look forward to your continuous support and partnership in educating your child.
Wishing you a happy 2010!

ReplyDeleteRegards the introductory letter from form teacher,it's nice to have one for better understanding form teacher's expectation and direction. But my child in 6F doesn't seem to receive this kind of letter. Can anyone help confirm this? Thanks.
